The Professor Man

His dirty blonde hair is long and he has part of it in a ponytail behind his head. There's a big, bushy beard on his face. He's wearing a blue Hawaii shit.

He really isn't much to look at. The hair isn't very well groomed. He's probably in his sixties. He walks with a stride that has seen many years.

It's his eyes that are captivating. Behind the slightly brutish appearance, he's got beautiful, intelligent, deep, sensitive eyes. He's quiet and walks with a slight slump.

Maybe he's a teacher. He looks like he could teach. The wisdom wrinkles on his face are clear to see and I wonder how much he's seen. How much happiness. How much love. How much pain. How much despair. He could be a university professor. He'd teach philosophy of course. He'd be the one that everyone loved. You know, the kind one. The smart one. The sensitive one.

He's all alone and I can just hear his voice as he orders a potato skin stack over the chatter of the carnival stalls around me. It's soft and smooth and suddenly I can picture him with a guitar, singing songs about suck lock and driving a pick-up truck.

The lady behind the stand hands him the deep-friend potato stack and he walks away with a crooked smile on his face. I can hear him chuckling a bit.

So, to the man with the old eyes, I hope you enjoyed your potatoes.

Canoeing in Massasauga Park

Hello Lovelies!

So it's been a while, a decently long while. I'd say it won't happen again, but let's be real, it probably will. If you're still here and reading this, hello friends! If not, I hope you're enjoying your life wherever you are.

Back in September (so long ago, le gasp!), my sister Victoria, my Dad and I all went up to Massasauga Park to go canoeing and spend the day up there. It started off being a rainy, kind of gross day, but it ended up be being really pretty. Have some pictures.

The water was so calm, it was like a
mirror.
I'm actually rather fond of our canoe. It's very pretty.

Gotta love those names though.

The sky started to clear up around
lunchtime.

I don't know what those little green ball things are, but
they looked nice against the backdrop of the canoe and the
water.

This was where we stopped for lunch and snacks.

Hello Mr. Caterpillar.

I'm quite proud of this picture. I think
it's pretty intense.

First star to the right and straight on 'til morning...

We canoed a bit more, stopping at different banks to drain
the canoe (it got a leak) or grab snacks or pee. On one
of the banks that we stopped at, the ground was covered in these
tiny mushrooms.

There was also a little toad who decided to join our party.

This picture feels very Tumblry. We
stopped one last time at the place
we ate lunch so Dad could go swimming
and Victoria and I could grab something
warm to drink.

The view from the campsite rock.

The sunset on the way home was gorgeous. The sky was
on fire.

Awenda 2015

Hello Lovelies!

I don't know if I've ever done a post on any of my trips to Awenda, but if I haven't, I'm truly sorry. It's a beautiful campground up near Midland. My family and I have camped there for years and we try to go every summer. Because of my Grandpa dying last summer, we didn't get to go, and it was beginning to look like we wouldn't be able to squeak it in this year either, but we did! Enjoy some pictures of what I think it one of Ontario's prettiest places.

Sunset by the beach on the first night.

Throwing in some of Canada's history here.

Camp fire.

We camp in style. Spicy dried sausage and Havarti cheese.

The underside of the trees at night.

This little guy was running around outside our tent early one
morning and so I ran outside to grab some pictures of him.
He was young, only a few months old.

He had his breakfast...

then we had ours!

Hiking.

This gives you an indication of just how bright my flash is.

Golden hour on this second night. This is what I think of
when I think of Canada.

Cool perspective.
If you ever come to Canada looking for a place to camp, I strongly recommend this place.

Canadian National Exhibition

Hello Lovelies!

School's only been here two weeks and I'm already looking forward to it being over. But, at the same time, I'm working my butt off so I can bump my average from 93.6% to 95%, because it means I get more scholarship money from the universities I'm looking at..

Anyways, that's completely besides the point of this post. I wanted to show you all some pictures from the CNE, a Canadian over-glorified fall fair that is actually a lot of fun. Enjoy.

I like this picture a whole bunch.

Mooo.

HE'S SO CUTE. I want one.

Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons

Hello Lovelies,

Little history lesson with Sarah. Sainte - Marie among the Hurons was a Jesuit settlement and it was the first European settlement to become what is now known as Ontario. It's been rebuilt and preserved so people can go visit it, and I went to go visit it a few week ago.

Entrance.

Pretty Bridge.

The vegetable garden.

I'm really quite fond of this shot.

This shot's cool too.

Inside one of the kitchens.

Chapel I think?

It was very, very smokey inside of the long houses.
There was a fire and only a little hole in the roof for the
smoke to escape through.

Apothecary's table.

Map of Canada as seen by France in a time that is
not now (I don't remember when).

Maple candy. Om nom nom.

On a totally different note, school starts tomorrow and I'm so ready for it to start so it can be over quicker. You feel me?

Song of the Day - Living Louder by The Cab

I recently discovered this band and although I'm not a fan of all of their music, I do love this one. It's got that wonderful love life, nostalgic type vibe to it that I seem to be very fond of.
