I Don't Even Know

Hello My Pretties!

Wow, that started off much creepier than intended...

Anyways! I will admit that I was fairly stumped for what to do for the letter 'i'. I mean, there's not many topics to write about that begin with 'i'. Ice cream doesn't sound really nice because I am currently freezing and sitting in a giant, over-sized sweatshirt. I could have written about idiots but I'm not really in a critical, pissed off mood. Iguanas are just something I don't have a lot of knowledge about.

But I finally came up with a topic. I'm going to write about my ignorance.

We all look at society sometimes and go, "Wait, what?" Things just don't make sense to us. We have no knowledge or information about why certain things are the way they are. So I'm going to talk about some things that just don't make sense to me in today's modern culture. Maybe you can explain them to me? Cause I'm totally lost on these things.

1) The hierarchy of music. Since when were different types of music considered more valuable than others? I'm preeeettttyy sure the reason we listen to music is for our own enjoyment, correct? By definition, music is "vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion." And if I find one type of music beautiful, and you find other music beautiful, who are we to criticize each other's music? I mean, some music may require more skill than others, or it may be more complex, but does that make it more valuable? I don't think so.

2) The whole flirting thing. Just to be perfectly frank, I don't get it. I mean, I will literally just talk to a guy and someone will come up and say, "Ohhh, you were flirting with him." Or vice versa.

Wait, what?

I don't get it!! Can someone please tell me what the heck I am doing or what the heck they're doing? Cause I don't understand what on earth you are referring to.

3) Why we can't be okay with people having different opinions than us. Just look at a youtube video. Or a tumblr post. Or any social media. You will immediately understand what I am referring to.

4) Why it's 'uncool' to enjoy our family. I actually really like spending time with my family. Sure my younger siblings get annoying sometimes, sure my parents get in my face about stuff, but I genuinely like them. Why are we weird if we're friends with the people we spend most of our lives with?

5) Why anxiety and depression have become cool. I mean, the whole, "Stressed, depressed but well dressed" is just pure idiocy. Trust me, it's not fun to be stressed or depressed. Just don't, don't do this.

6) Our obsessions with celebrities. You are going crazy over someone you don't know, probably will never meet and everybody's okay with this? I get appreciating someone with talent or good looks or even being a fan. But stalking their every move and going to extreme levels to have anything to do with them. For example,

HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 1
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 2
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 3
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 4
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 5
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 6
HARRY STYLES ILY SOOOO MUCH PLS FOLLOW ME??? <333333 7

Anyways, you get my drift.

If anyone would like to shed some light on any of theses topics, that would be much appreciated. Or maybe you have your own, "wait, what?" things. Lemme know!!

Until next time!

Song of the Day

I have my younger sister to thank for introducing me to this song. It's called "Shatter Me" and it's by Lindsey Stirling featuring Lzzy Hale. It's a super intense song that's a mix of modern beats and ballet and violin. It also has an awesome music video so give it a looksy!

Long Weekend Pictures!

Hello Lovelies!

This past weekend was a long weekend for me, woop woop! Does anyone else celebrate Victoria Day besides Canada? I feel like England might, but then again I might be totally wrong here.

In Canada, we usually celebrate Victoria Day with fireworks and barbecues and that sort of stuff, but this year, we skipped out on the festive traditions and headed up to my grandparent's farm instead.

It's not really a farm, it's more like 250 acres of conservation space. They have forests and meadows and ponds; it's absolutely beautiful and I spent all of Sunday walking around and taking pictures. It's such a joy having a camera that can do the place justice! I've done a lot of photography up there before but it was with one of those "early cameras for young children" where the screen is maybe three quarters of an inch across and there is no zoom.

Here are some of the pictures I took whilst on my mini Holiday! All photos are SOOC.

Sunset the first night over the field.

I like the whole silhouetted look, especially at sunset.

Grandy and Grandpa's photo wall. I love
looking at all the old pictures of my
family. It makes me happy. That's my
Mum in the graduation picture.
Isn't she purtyyyy?? :)

Whilst going through my 500+ pictures to decide which ones
to put on my blog, this was the only one that everyone went,
"Don't delete that one!". This guy just sat there and let me
take tons of pictures of him. I was literally about three inches
away and he just sat there like, "Yes, I know I'm beautiful.
You may take my picture."

I don't know what kind of tree this is but there were a bunch
like this one with the peeling bark.

Ontario represent! This is our national flower, the trillium!
There you go, there's your fact for the day.

I just love this path. The pines are lined up perfectly, and in
the summer, when the branches have needles on them, it's
amazing. I can picture Arwen walking down the trail.

I just love the vibrant colours in this colour. Green is so lovely.

This is probably my favourite picture out of the entire set.
It must have taken me about five minutes to get this one
to look right.

So apparently, these are NOT Dandelions! They're
something to do with feet or cotton or something.
My Dad told me what they were and now I've gone
and forgotten.

This is the third pond.

This is really cool. I've always thought of them as woodlands
creatures' roofs. Like when it would rain, they would go and
hide under these. All the little pixies and gnomes and fairies.
I guess I have Brownies to thank for that thought. :)
Anyone else a former Girl Guide?

The barn that is now storage and an apartment
complex to all the raccoons on the farm.

My Mum and I have dubbed this tree "The Party Tree"
because it reminded us of the tree in the Hobbit.

These little bits of water may look pretty, but they were nasty
suckers when you had your sneakers on and accidentally
stepped in them. The thing is, you couldn't actually
see them unless the light was shining right on them so
you'd just be walking and then BOOM! You take a bath.

I've always liked the way rusty barbed wire looks.

Golden hour is definitely my favourite time to take pictures.
Again with the whole rust thing. I dunno why, but rust is
just so pretty!

I'm really happy with the lighting on this one. And I love,
love, love, love the spring, when everything is starting
to grow. Reminds me of new beginnings.

Another thing I love looking at is rotting wood or ruins of
something. These fences are no longer really functional,
but I think they look really nice.

My ten year old brother wanted me to
let you all know that he got a bull's
eye after practicing all weekend.

This is the first pond and right behind the tree on the left is
the house.

These vines are so pretty. Does anyone else like the way
the little curly cues on vines look or is it just me?

The true farm look.

Sunset on the last night.

I hope you've enjoyed this post. I know I certainly enjoyed creating it! :)

On a totally different note, Lyn, are you still out there? I miss my Canadian blogger buddy!

Looking for a House in Neverland

I always thought when I got to this point in my life, I'd be happy.

University and College are on the horizon. I can finally get out and live my own life. There are so many opportunities that are starting to present themselves.

But to be honest, I'm kinda scared.

The majority of my friends are a year older than me; they're graduating this year and leaving. All of the sudden I'm not going to be able to just call them up, just hang out for an evening. Some of them are moving cities, provinces and even countries. All of the sudden, I feel so alone.

Because next year, there will be almost no one left. It's just going to be me in my little town with my family.

I feel like I'm on the brink of so many Goodbyes that I don't want to say. I mean, I'm happy for my friends, I really am. They get to go out and do what they've always wanted. I'm just sad that they have to leave.

And after I graduate, then what happens? When I leave, do I start over? Do I become a different person? What do I study?

All of these questions are terrifying me.

When I was younger, I used to dream about this time. I used to know exactly what I wanted and how I was going to get there. I guess I just never looked at the goodbyes and uncertainty.

We're all growing up so fast. Everything's moving so fast. People I've known since we ran around in diapers together, are becoming adults, going away to Universities and it feels like it's only been a few years.

I just want to hold on to what we have now. Can't we just pause life for a few years and enjoy it instead of rushing through it? Cause it seems that the older we get, the more complicated things are.

Can I just move to Neverland please?

The Favourites Tag

Hello People!

So here we are, a week later... oops. I honestly have no excuse other than school and life has been hectic and I've been exhausted.

I was planning to do a favourites of April post but then I realized, it's a third of the way through May and kinda late to do an April Favourites tag, and my favourites post would have consisted of "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran and "Parade Rain" by Hedley. I didn't do a lot or buy almost anything in April.

But! I figured I could still do a favourites post, I would just do an all time favourites instead of a monthly favourites. And then I thought, "Why not get other people to do this too!? That way I can see what their favourite stuff is and get to know them a little better!" And then it became the favourites tag. Some of the categories are going to be random, you've been forewarned.

I seem to have a thing with randomly creating tags or challenges. If you've come up with a tag that I seem to have I thought I was the creator of, please let me know. I really don't mean to steal anyone's ideas. :)

All Time Favourites

Favourite Song: "September" by Daughtry. I think I've already posted this on one of my "Song of the Day" things but I'll put it here again. :)

Favourite Movie: Kay, I'm gonna cheat a little here cause I can't just pick one. I'm going to list my favourite movie from some genres.

Romantic Comedy: 27 Dresses

Action/Adventure: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Drama: Fame

Comedy: Old Dogs

Favourite Flavour of Ice Cream: Pumpkin Pie, but only a certain kind. Every summer, my family goes to a family camp up in Big Bay and there's this little, family run ice cream store there. They make the best pumpkin pie ice cream EVER!

Favourite Meat: Chicken. Make me anything to do with chicken and I will love you forever. Ooh! Or bacon. Bacon is delicious....
Now I want bacon...
Or chicken....

Favourite Meal: Either Chinese food or sushi. It really depends what mood I'm in.

Favourite Book: Eugh! I don't think I can pick just one. I'm sorry guys, I'm going to have to cheat again.

Mara, Daughter of the Nile by Eloise Jarvis McGraw

This is the second one,
cause I couldn't find a
picture with all three.

The Emily Series by L.M. Montgomery

The Book Theif by Markus Zusak

Favourite YouTuber: Definitely Joe Sugg. :)

Favourite Smell: Rain. Speaking of, there's this awesome site called Rainy Mood. It's basically a screen with rain falling on it and rain sounds playing.

Favourite Hobby: Songwriting/singing

Favourite Board Game: Settlers of Catan is my favourite board game. Pirate scrabble is my favourite game game, but I don't know if it counts as a board game.

Favourite Personality Trait: I had to think a really long time about this one. I think, and this may change, but right now it's stick-with-you-ness. It really means a lot to mean with someone will go through crap by my side and not leave. It's nice when people don't leave you when times get hard.

Favourite Emoji: The winky face one with the tongue out.

Favourite Fictional Character: This constantly changes but right now it's Emily from the Emily Series by L.M. Montgomery.

Favourite Place: My Grandparent's farm.

Favourite Cartoon Character: Tigger

Favourite Disney Villan: Yzma from Emperor's New Groove.

I hope you enjoyed this post and learned a little more about me. :) Go do the tag on your blog and comment below so I can go read it!! :D  Feel free to add or remove categories. This was just off the top of my head.

Song of the Day
I am currently obsessed with this song. It's really applicable in my life right now and I have it on repeat.
