Favourite February Things

Gosh, where did February go? In fact, where have the past two months go? Didn't 2014 start like a week ago? I guess not...

So! February favourites! I'll say right now, I highly doubt that I'm going to be doing "beauty" favourites as I hardly ever buy new makeup, or hair stuff, or anything beauty related. Except maybe clothes. I love clothes. So my favourites are really going to be my favourite books, music, maybe clothing, pictures/photography etc. etc. And then I might throw in a random one like food or socks or weather.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

So a few months ago a dear friend (gosh, I sound like a grandmother) of mine gave me this book for my birthday. Anyone who knows me well knows I love books. So she gave me this book with the thoughts I would read it right away. Unfortunately, it got put off again and again until I forgot about it. A week or two ago, I found it in my dresser and picked it up to read.
I am absolutely loving it! I love the author's writing style and the book is really interesting. I have been enjoying World War II books lately. The author's writing style is engaging and very creative. The words that he uses are truly remarkable. I haven't finished it yet but I definitely recommend it!

Moringa Shower Gel, Body Scrub and Body Butter - The Body Shop

So this month I guess I will make an exception to the "no beauty favourites" because this stuff is incredible. I went shopping with another dear friend last weekend and neither of us were really in a clothing buying mood so we went to look at chocolates at Laura Secort and the wonderful smelling stuff at The Body Shop. I bought this lovely little package that had a loofa, shower gel, body scrub and body butter in it. The scent is very relaxing and floral. For some reason, it reminds me of something or someone from when I was really little.

Baptized - Daughtry

As I've mentioned in my "About Me" section, I am a huge Daughtry fan. In November he released his new album "Baptized". It was a different sound than his usual rock sound and I was a little hesitant at first. However, a few more listens through the album and I was hooked. I'm still loving it and it has been on my playlist all month. It's like a soft rock mixed with some pop and a few of the songs are folky. My favourites on the album are probably "Baptized", "Battleships", "Wild Heart", "18 Years" and "Cinderella". Go have a listen (not in the picture below, that's just a picture).

Peanut Butter S'more Bars

http://backforsecondsblog.com/2012/08/peanut-butter-smores-bars/

These. Are. Incredible. I'm not kidding. These bars a drool inspiring, snatch-before-anyone-else-gets-them, addicting slice of heaven. If you like peanut butter, or chocolate or s'mores you should definitely try them!!

The Hunger Games and Catching Fire

Yes, I'm a little behind on the times here. I only read the series this past month. I'd kinda been putting it off because everyone seemed to love it and I'm a bit of a rebel. Just a bit. But I finally gave in and read the series. The series were pretty good. I think I have fallen in love with Gale. Peeta's a wimp in MHO. So I wasn't enamoured with the books but then I watched the movies with a friend (yes, a dear one xD) and absolutely loved them. They were amazing! I'm trying not to say too much for the risk that there may be someone else out there who is just as behind as I am.

Picture I found on Facebook

Heehee, I love this movie and this picture is funny. Therefore, this picture is awesome.

That's it for this month's favourites!! What have your favourites been this month?

BTW Only 21 days until Divergent comes out! SO FLIPPING EXCITED!!

Song of the Day

This is a Daughtry song but it's not off of his new album. It's called "September" off of his album Leave This Town released in 2009. This is my favourite, favourite song and it has been for almost five years.

Ice Storm

Recently, we had a really big ice storm. Like really big. Some people were without power for over 90 hours. Everyone was trying to keep warm and the roads were awful.

But it was gorgeous.

The way the sun shone through the ice on the trees. Everything was like one big skating rink. I felt like I was in Narnia.

I love icicles. <3
The trees in our backyard were completely incased in ice.

More icicles... heehee.

Look how thick the ice is on the branches on the right!

Last picture of icicles I swear.

Pretty. ^_^

Helllooo?

So last night I must have spent a good hour trying to find other teen bloggers. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into. I sat down on the sofa, ready to find something quickly. I figured, "Hey, there must be tons of teen blogs out there! All I have to do is type it into google and I'll have tons of results pop up!"

Nope.

Honestly! It was so hard to find any teen bloggers! The only site I found that listed teen blogs that were actually still active was this one:  http://teenage-blogger-central.blogspot.ca/ . I eventually just gave up and looked through the comments of other people's blogs where everyone was posting "follow me here!" or "check out my blog".

Is anyone out there? Or do you all only exist in my imagination? ... that sounded a lot creepier than it was meant to.

Does anyone have any good blogs they can recommend? Or perhaps you want to recommend your own blog? Do tell! I really want to join some blogs!

Song Choice of the Day
This is "Shattered" by Trading Yesterday. I love the imagery in the lyrics and the way the song builds. The vocabulary is amazing too. I don't know about you, but I find that in today's songs, it's really hard to find music that uses words other than "baby" and "ooh" and "rock". I mean, there's a place for that music too; that's the music that has great beat. But when you just want to appreciate the music or lyrics, it's not really... right.
So! Without further adieu, here's "Shattered"!

Heyo!

Heyo! I’m Sarah. I live in Canada where we ride our polar bears to school and live in igloos. Actually though, we have about two and a half feet of snow outside in the backyard so I’m pretty sure we could build an igloo. Music is really important to me and I like almost all types. Country, rock, classical, rap, pop, jazz, pretty much anything. The only thing I don’t really like is screamo, because in my mind, that’s not really music. I love taking pictures and have doing so been for… four years now? And I recently just got a nice, new camera so my pictures look clearer and nicer. Yay! I would in no way call myself a photographer.  I’m just a person who likes taking pictures. I’m much more of a movie person that a tv show person. I will almost always choose to watch a movie before I watch a tv show. The only exceptions to this rule are Doctor Who (tenth doctor is the best!!) and Lost (Sawyer, gahh). I love, love, love writing. Anything to do with writing. I love being able to write my thoughts down, no matter how random they may be. I love reading someone else’s writing and seeing how they’ve managed to string words together. I love finding new words. Like these for example. A blatherskite means a person who talks nonsense. To machinate means to contrive or plot especially artfully or with evil purpose. To be gaumless means you’re lacking in intelligence. But I promise that I won’t use really odd words that no one knows, well, unless I explain them first.
This point ties into why I’m writing this blog. I really enjoy writing and photography and music and so many other things and I want to be able to share them with you. I want to hear what your thoughts are and chat back and forth to find what your perspective is. You’ll be able to catch a glimpse (there’s another word I absolutely love) of my life and hopefully, I’ll be able to catch a glimpse of yours. So stick with me as I ramble about randomness and share my thoughts. As the next Doctor Who season comes out and I fan girl over the awesomeness of it. As I photograph the things around me. As I share the song I heard in the store and then spent 20 minutes searching google with the one lyric I could remember to try to figure out what the song was. Welcome to A Glimpse of Blue (cue happy upbeat music)!
